MUSIC BRAINWORKS PROGRAM

Music has a great impact on our brain because through it, many neural connections, called synapses, are generated. These synapses stimulate the brain in creative, cognitive, motor and emotional dimensions.

What is the purpose of this program?

Music Brainworks designed for neurotypical and Special Needs Students of all ages in the integral development of the human being, which through the exercise of music and the arts (dance and theater) we stimulate the cognitive, emotional-relational, physical-motor and creative dimensions, enhancing the talents and abilities of each student, thus facilitating an integration with the Society.

Music brainwork’s acts as a music therapy for children like no other with autism and disabilities, in the most profound ways. Our program was created though decades of experience and evolutionary pedagogy by the founder of the music conservatory Jaffird Sierra. She holds a Master of Science in exceptional student education in the Nova Southeastern University where she studied how to teach and treat the special and unique needs of children with exceptionalities. With her combined knowledge in music performance (Bachelor’s degree) and her master’s degree, she transformed her pedagogy to a unique musical therapy program that transforms and enhances social abilities to a new height!

The founder created a unique program, a methodology that exceeds its time! One of the most extensive therapeutic programs for children with autism.

Her work is based on synthesized learning exercises in a well-thought-out educational step-by-step system!

The first learning exercise works with colors in correlation with sound, connecting the student with their magic, which is intrinsic within each human being. By creating a colorful visual experience, our students with special needs can grasp each lesson faster.

Then comes the foot piano, another breakthrough where students reinforce the learning of the piano through their feet. In this methodology, we manage to locate the student with his own space and laterality, thus stimulating the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic parts of their brain.

We also use Orff instruments, which is one of the oldest methodologies in music, where we immerse the children in the different timbres of instruments, stimulating their auditory dimension and managing to connect them with different sounds and frequencies.

We also use singing as a didactic strategy to stimulate speech in children through their vocal cords. Here we make different accommodations to get children to learn songs in different verbal variations with their pronunciation, in addition to taking them to understand speech through the structure of complete sentences. We also work on memorization. In many ways, it can improve vocabulary!

Lastly, we bring Dance to the table. Our goal in this part of the program is for students to express themselves through movement, managing to place them in their own space naturally through the sound of music, and allowing them to move their entire body to acquire better balance and coordination. Thus enhancing body control!

Musical theater will be part of the program as an extension that will showcase multiple abilities, including acting and musicals, to help the children learn to express and work in unison with their peers.

Overall we have managed to create one of the most comprehensive, well-rounded pedagogy and therapeutic programs in the world for children with special needs! Combining the color pedagogy, foot piano, Orff instruments, singing and dance synthesized all in one class!
